Pickup football is the game you join because it is on tonight, not because you signed up for a season. AllPlay puts every open game near you on one map, so you can see who is playing, join with a tap and turn up.
Pickup football is a casual game anyone can join: a host names a pitch and a time, people turn up, teams are sorted on the spot and you play. No league, no referee, no season — enough players and a ball. It is association football (soccer), not American football.
In Sweden it is called spontanfotboll, and it happens on the public bollplaner in every city. What used to take a group chat and a lot of “who’s in?” now takes one look at a map.
No membership, no sign-up to browse. Public pitches, free games.
Games near you tonight and this week, with pitch, kickoff, format, level and spots left.
Your place is held. You get a reminder before kickoff and can see who else is coming.
Check in at the pitch. The game counts towards your rank and your history.
Three formats cover almost every game. A level is optional, and it is there to keep a game even, not to keep people out.

Half-pitch football. Room to pass and move, still quick to gather.
The full game on a full pitch. Rarer, and usually planned a few days ahead.
A host can set a level on a match — beginner, intermediate or advanced — or leave it open to all. No level means anyone can join. Most public games are open, and mixed levels are normal.
Separately, every player has a rank: eight steps from Rookie to Immortal — Rookie, Baller, Playmaker, Striker, Veteran, Elite, Legend, Immortal — that you climb as you play. It is a record of games, not a gate on them.
Most public pitches are artificial turf. Boots that work on astroturf are the safe choice; running shoes are not.
The host usually brings one. Bring your own if you have it; it never hurts.
Plans change. Leave the match in the app so the spot goes to someone else. No-shows are recorded.
Check-in tells everyone the game is on and counts the match towards your record.
Mixed levels are normal. The game is for everyone on it, and reporting and blocking are there if it is not.
Kickoff is kickoff. Ten minutes early is when teams get sorted.
Open games this week, the pitches people play on, and how the city’s bollplaner work.
